RESYLICA® TECHNOLOGY

The Physical Science Behind Resylica®

A novel physical mode of action delivering fast knockdown and dependable control, harnessing innovative technology for efficient and sustainable pest management.

Pest Resistance: A Growing Challenge

Over time, insects have evolved mechanisms that enable them to survive exposure to conventional insecticides. Research has shown that resistance develops through several key mechanisms:

From Contact to Knockdown How Resylica® Works

One of the most remarkable features of Resylica® technology is its ability to rapidly penetrate an insect’s respiratory system through its ultra-low surface tension and exceptional spreading capability. Upon contact, the formulation spreads instantly across the insect’s highly hydrophobic exoskeleton, forming a continuous liquid film that reaches the respiratory openings, known as spiracles, within fractions of a second.

Even when insects activate their natural defence mechanism by closing the peritreme around the spiracles, Resylica®’s superior spreading properties enable the formulation to continue penetrating the respiratory openings. This ensures effective delivery into the tracheal system, where it exerts its unique physical mode of action.

Once inside the respiratory system, Resylica® physically interacts with the insect’s respiratory structures, leading to:

Adhesion to taenidia, the spiral support structures that maintain the integrity of the tracheal tubes.

Physical blockage of the spiracles and tracheal pathways, restricting airflow throughout the respiratory network.

Disruption of normal oxygen exchange, preventing the insect from maintaining essential respiratory function.

Contact

The droplet reaches the insect’s hydrophobic exoskeleton and establishes rapid contact.

Rapid Spreading

Ultra-low surface tension enables the formulation to spread quickly and uniformly across the insect surface.

Spiracle Flooding

The spreading film reaches and floods the spiracles, overcoming the insect’s respiratory openings and limiting normal air exchange.

Tracheal Penetration

The formulation enters the respiratory system through the spiracles and extends into the tracheal pathways.

Tracheal Collapse

Physical disruption of the respiratory system interferes with tracheal function and oxygen transport.

Respiratory Disruption & Knockdown

Disrupted oxygen exchange results in rapid loss of activity, leading to knockdown and subsequent insect mortality.

The Future of Sustainable Pest Control

By combining a novel molecular structure, ultra-low surface tension, superior wettability and a unique physical mode of action, Resylica® offers a powerful alternative to conventional insecticides.

The result is rapid knockdown, effective control of resistant pests, reduced resistance risk, and a more sustainable approach to modern pest management.

Resylica® is not simply another insecticide it is a new technology platform designed to meet the evolving challenges of pest control.
