Resylica® Technology delivers next-generation cockroach control through advanced active delivery, targeted action, enhanced residual performance, and improved penetration into hidden harbourages helping overcome resistance, reduce reinfestation, and minimize costly callbacks.
Cockroaches are among the oldest and most resilient insects on Earth, with a history dating back over 300 million years and more than 4,600 identified species worldwide, of which approximately 30 species are commonly associated with human habitats. Species such as the German, American, Oriental, and Brown-banded cockroaches are major urban pests that thrive in warm, dark, and humid environments where food, water, and shelter are readily available. Their flattened bodies enable them to hide in narrow cracks, crevices, wall voids, drains, and other concealed harbourages, making infestations difficult to detect and control. Cockroaches reproduce rapidly, are highly adaptable to changing environments, and have developed varying levels of resistance to many conventional insecticides through prolonged exposure. Their ability to survive in harsh conditions, remain hidden during the day, and emerge at night to forage makes them one of the most persistent and challenging pests encountered in residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and food-processing environments.
The global cockroach killer market is projected to grow from USD 1,085.8M in 2021 to USD 2,586M by 2033, reflecting a CAGR of 7.5%, with sustained growth across all major regions. Asia-Pacific leads expansion at USD 1,024.1M by 2033 (CAGR 8.1%), driven by urbanization and high household demand. North America is expected to reach USD 693.1M (CAGR 7%), while Europe grows to USD 584.4M (CAGR 7.3%), supported by eco-friendly and regulatory-compliant products.
Cockroaches are among the world’s most resilient pests, with over 4,600 identified species, around 30 of which are commonly associated with human habitats. Their remarkable adaptability, rapid reproduction, and ability to thrive in hidden environments make them one of the most difficult pests to control.
Over the years, repeated use of conventional insecticides has resulted in many cockroach populations developing varying levels of resistance, reducing the effectiveness of traditional chemical treatments. At the same time, their natural behaviour of hiding deep inside cracks, crevices, wall voids, electrical conduits, false ceilings, drainage systems, and other inaccessible harbourages makes it difficult for ordinary sprays to reach the source of an infestation.
The defining feature of Resylica Technology® is its exceptionally low surface tension.
Surface tension determines how easily a liquid spreads across a surface. Conventional insecticide formulations often form droplets that remain on exposed surfaces, limiting their ability to enter the microscopic spaces where cockroaches hide.
With Resylica Technology®, the formulation behaves differently.
Its ultra-low surface tension enables the treatment to:
This enhanced spreading action ensures that the active formulation is delivered precisely where cockroaches spend most of their time.
Resylica® Technology controls cockroaches through an advanced physical mode of action, utilizing an innovative formulation with ultra-low surface tension. Unlike conventional formulations that may remain as discrete droplets on treated surfaces, X Technology rapidly spreads to form a thin, continuous film. This exceptional spreading ability allows the formulation to wet the cockroach’s entire body efficiently, including areas that are often difficult for ordinary formulations to reach.
When a droplet of solodrop® falls onto the cockroach’s body, the formulation immediately spreads across the insect’s waxy cuticle, maximizing surface coverage within seconds. Driven by its ultra-low surface tension, the formulation quickly migrates towards the spiracles the microscopic respiratory openings located along both sides of the cockroach’s body. The rapid penetration of the formulation through these openings occurs before the insect can effectively limit exposure through its normal protective responses.
Once inside the spiracles, the formulation enters the cockroach’s tracheal (respiratory) system and rapidly spreads throughout the interconnected network of air tubes. As the respiratory passages become flooded, the normal movement of air is disrupted, preventing efficient oxygen exchange. The cockroach begins to experience respiratory distress, leading to suffocation, followed by physiological shock, loss of mobility, and ultimately death.
The unique physical mode of action of Resylica® Technology is complemented by its superior spreading and penetrating properties. Its ultra-low surface tension enables the formulation to flow deep into cracks, crevices, wall voids, equipment gaps, and other concealed harbourages where cockroaches hide and breed. By reaching both exposed insects and hidden populations, Resylica® Technology delivers comprehensive and effective cockroach control, targeting the infestation at its source rather than only the insects that are visible.
Unlike conventional insecticides that primarily rely on chemical toxicity, Resylica® Technology works through an advanced physical mode of action. Its unique formulation is designed to act rapidly upon contact with the cockroach, providing an innovative approach to cockroach control.
When a droplet of Resylica® Technology falls onto the cockroach's body, its ultra-low surface tension enables it to spread instantly across the insect's waxy cuticle. Rather than remaining as isolated droplets, the formulation forms a thin, continuous film that maximizes contact with the entire body surface.
The rapid spreading action allows the formulation to quickly migrate towards the cockroach's spiracles the tiny respiratory openings located along the sides of its body. The formulation enters these openings so quickly that the insect has little opportunity to limit exposure through its natural protective responses.
Once inside the spiracles, the formulation rapidly spreads throughout the tracheal (respiratory) system, displacing air and flooding the respiratory passages. This physical obstruction disrupts normal oxygen exchange, preventing the cockroach from breathing effectively.
As respiration is interrupted, the cockroach experiences progressive respiratory distress, leading to suffocation, physiological shock, loss of mobility, and ultimately death. This rapid sequence of events provides fast and effective control following direct contact.
The same ultra-low surface tension that enables rapid spiracle penetration also allows Resylica® Technology to flow deep into cracks, crevices, wall voids, equipment gaps, and other concealed harbourages. As a result, the formulation reaches cockroaches where they hide, increasing the likelihood of direct contact and effective control.
By combining exceptional spreading, deep penetration, and a highly effective physical mode of action, Resylica® Technology delivers a next-generation solution for cockroach management, targeting both exposed insects and hidden infestations with superior treatment performance.
