Address flea risks that impact pet-care businesses recurring infestations, customer complaints, animal discomfort, treatment failures, and reputational damage with Resylica® Technology for reliable, long-lasting control and improved service outcomes.
Dog fleas are among the most common external parasites affecting companion animals worldwide. The cat flea (Ctenocephalides felis) is the most prevalent species found on both dogs and cats, while the dog flea (Ctenocephalides canis) is also encountered in many regions. These small, wingless, blood-feeding parasites live on the host and reproduce rapidly, making infestations difficult to control without a comprehensive treatment approach. Adult fleas feed on the blood of dogs several times a day, while flea eggs are laid on the animal and subsequently fall into the surrounding environment. The eggs hatch into larvae, develop into pupae, and eventually emerge as adults, completing a life cycle that can rapidly establish large infestations in homes, kennels, pet bedding, carpets, cracks in flooring, and other protected areas.
Fleas are more than just a nuisance they can significantly affect the health and well-being of both pets and their owners. Repeated flea bites cause intense itching, irritation, scratching, hair loss, skin inflammation, and discomfort. Sensitive dogs may develop Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), an allergic reaction to flea saliva that results in severe itching and skin lesions. Heavy infestations can also lead to anaemia, particularly in puppies, elderly dogs, or debilitated animals. In addition, fleas are capable of transmitting certain pathogens and can serve as intermediate hosts for tapeworms, making effective flea control an essential part of pet health management.
Successful flea management requires controlling both adult fleas on the animal and the immature stages present in the surrounding environment.
Conventional treatments may eliminate exposed adult fleas but often fail to provide adequate coverage in pet bedding, carpets, upholstery, kennel flooring, cracks, crevices, and other hidden areas where flea eggs, larvae, and pupae develop. Reinfestation from these environmental reservoirs is therefore common.
These challenges highlight the need for an advanced formulation capable of improving coverage and contact in difficult-to-reach areas.
Resylica® Technology controls fleas through an advanced physical mode of action. When a droplet of the formulation comes into contact with an adult flea, its ultra-low surface tension allows it to spread rapidly across the insect’s cuticle, completely wetting the body surface.
The formulation quickly reaches the flea’s spiracles the microscopic respiratory openings located along the body. Due to its exceptional spreading ability, the formulation rapidly enters these openings and floods the tracheal (respiratory) system, disrupting normal respiration and preventing efficient oxygen exchange.
As respiration is impaired, the flea experiences respiratory distress, followed by suffocation, physiological shock, immobilization, and ultimately death.
The same ultra-low surface tension also enables the formulation to penetrate cracks, crevices, kennel flooring, pet resting areas, and other hidden harbourages where fleas are commonly found, improving contact with adult fleas in the treated environment.
Resylica® Technology acts through a physical mechanism that rapidly disrupts flea respiration following direct contact, providing fast and effective control.
The formulation spreads instantly across the flea's body, ensuring complete wetting of the cuticle and maximizing contact.
The formulation enters the flea's spiracles, floods the respiratory system, and interferes with normal breathing, leading to suffocation, physiological shock, and death.
Forms a thin, continuous film that enhances coverage on treated surfaces compared with conventional formulations.
Flows into flooring joints, kennel cracks, pet bedding, carpets, upholstery, and other concealed harbourages where fleas may be present.
The enhanced spreading ability increases the probability of direct contact with fleas on treated surfaces.
Suitable for use in kennels, veterinary clinics, pet shelters, grooming facilities, breeding establishments, and household environments as part of an integrated flea management programme.
